Patna: Tourism Minister Nitish Mishra launched four key schemes aimed at enhancing tourism in Bihar during an event held at Hotel Maurya on Wednesday. The newly introduced initiatives include the Mera Prakhand Mera Gaurav Competition, Bihar Tourism Competition in the Eyes of Influencers, Bihar Tourism Branding and Marketing Policy, and the Chief Minister Homestay/Bed and Breakfast Promotion Scheme.
In his address, Mishra emphasized the state’s continuous progress in tourism, noting the growing number of both domestic and international tourists visiting Bihar’s scenic locations. He acknowledged the state’s tarnished image and stressed the need for a positive campaign to change this perception. Two competitions, Mera Prakhand Mera Gaurav and Bihar Tourism in the Eyes of Influencers, aim to engage the public and influencers in promoting Bihar’s tourist attractions. Both competitions will launch on October 2, with the public invited to submit entries showcasing areas needing improvement, while influencers are encouraged to create videos highlighting the state’s beauty.
The Tourism Minister further explained that the Chief Minister Homestay/Bed and Breakfast Promotion Scheme aims to incentivize locals near tourist spots to convert their homes into accommodations for visitors. The government will provide financial assistance and incentives to support this initiative.
Tourism Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh emphasized the importance of public participation in the development of Bihar’s tourism sector. He encouraged people to actively contribute to improving tourism in the state.
