Patna: The NSS Unit of Patna Women’s College, in partnership with Kurji Holy Family Hospital, organized a Blood Donation Orientation Programme. Dr. Reena Ranjan, the Blood Bank Incharge at Kurji Holy Family Hospital, was the main speaker for the event. She emphasized the benefits of blood donation for both donors and recipients, noting that the entire process typically takes 15-20 minutes. During a donation, around 470 milliliters of blood is collected, a safe amount that the body can quickly replenish.
Dr. Ranjan urged NSS volunteers to get involved in blood donation, informing them that most donors can donate blood again after a period of three months. The programme aimed to raise awareness and encourage participation in blood donation drives.
The event was conducted under the supervision of NSS Program Officers, Dr. Amrita and Dr. Shahla Rehana. Their guidance ensured the smooth execution of the orientation and highlighted the importance of regular blood donation in saving lives.
