Patna Women's College Hosts Reel-Making Competition to Celebrate Intangible Cultural Heritage

Patna: The Department of History at Patna Women’s College, in collaboration with DHAROHAR – the Heritage Club, organised a reel-making competition titled “The Spirit of Intangible Cultural Heritage” on Friday. The competition aimed to highlight the importance of preserving India’s diverse cultural legacies.

The judging panel for the event included Frank Krishner, Media Expert and Communication Consultant from the Department of Communicative English and Media Studies, and Ajay Kumar Jha, Assistant Professor from the Department of Mass Communication. DHAROHAR – the Heritage Club, which is dedicated to celebrating and conserving the rich cultural history of the country, seeks to explore the diverse traditions, stories, and legacies that shape individual and collective identities.

A total of 11 entries participated from various departments, with Code 7 from the Department of Education emerging as the winner. Code 4 from the Department of Political Science secured second place, while Code 8 from the Department of Economics finished third.

Following the competition, Frank Krishner delivered an address to the audience, offering insights and words of encouragement. The event was coordinated by Swati Sinha, Assistant Professor in the Department of History and Coordinator of the Heritage Club. The entire event was organised under the guidance of Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C, Head of the Department of History.

Mariyum Fatima, Vice Premier of the Student Council for 2024–25, moderated the event, and Prerna, a third-semester History student, delivered the vote of thanks.
