Patna: Spiritual leader Jaggi Vasudev “Sadhguru”, founder of the Isha Foundation, is set to visit Patna for the first time on Friday, marking the beginning of a three-day programme that includes meetings with the Bihar government, a public satsang and engagements related to the Foundation’s work in the state.
The visit will continue until June 28 and is expected to focus on spiritual outreach as well as civic initiatives undertaken by the Foundation in Bihar.
Meeting With State Leadership
On Friday, Sadhguru is scheduled to meet Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and hold discussions with senior officials of the Bihar government.
While the agenda of the meeting has not been officially disclosed, it is expected to cover matters relating to the Foundation’s activities and other issues of mutual interest.
Public Satsang In Patna
On June 27, Sadhguru will interact with the public during a satsang at Bapu Sabhagar near Gandhi Maidan.
The event is expected to draw participants from across Bihar, with followers gathering to hear his discourse on spirituality and well-being.
After attending additional engagements in the state, Sadhguru is scheduled to return to Tamil Nadu on June 28.
Isha Foundation’s Work At Bansghat
The visit also comes as the Isha Foundation oversees the management of funeral services at the newly modernised Bansghat cremation ground in Patna.
Under the system introduced at the facility, a fixed fee covers all major components of the last rites, including the services of priests, barbers and the Dom Raja. Funeral assistance is being provided by trained volunteers associated with the Foundation.
According to the Foundation, several volunteers serving at the cremation ground have relocated from Tamil Nadu to support the initiative.

Modern Facilities At Cremation Ground
Spread across 4.5 acres, Bansghat has been redeveloped with modern infrastructure and is described by the authorities as one of the largest cremation facilities in Asia and the first in eastern India to offer such amenities.
The complex includes infrastructure capable of handling up to 18 cremations simultaneously, two air-conditioned waiting halls for bereaved families, drinking water facilities and modern sanitation.
Plans are also underway to install an eight-foot statue of Kaal Bhairav and construct a dedicated Kaal Bhairav Mandapam, where pre-cremation rituals can be performed.
In addition, two ponds filled with Gangajal have been created to facilitate ritual bathing and the immersion of ashes, as the main channel of the Ganga now flows several kilometres away from the cremation ground.
Officials say the upgraded facility is intended to provide a more organised, dignified and accessible environment for families performing final rites.
