Traffic Route Changes Implemented in Patna, Commercial Vehicles Restricted in Key Areas

Traffic Police Issue Fines Outside RJD Office, Party Alleges Bias

Patna: The traffic system in Patna has undergone significant changes starting today as part of a route revision to ease congestion. Commercial vehicles, handcarts, auto-rickshaws, e-rickshaws, and passenger buses passing through major areas such as Chirayatand Bridge, Nala Road, and Bari Path will now follow altered routes.

As per the new traffic regulations, freight vehicles coming from Buddha Marg and heading toward the Old Bypass via the GPO roundabout will now take a diverted route through Karbighhiya. Similarly, vehicles traveling from R Block roundabout towards Chirayatand via GPO will be rerouted through Bhikhari Thakur ROB, Mithapur flyover, and Karbighhiya before reaching Old Bypass or Mithapur.

To control traffic flow, all vehicles traveling from Gandhi Maidan Ramgulam Chowk, Kadamkuan, and Patna Junction towards Chirayatand Bridge will face restrictions. From 5 pm to 7 pm, goods vehicles, handcarts, auto-rickshaws, and passenger buses will not be allowed to enter this area.

For a three-hour window from 5 pm to 8 pm, all commercial vehicles will be banned from Nala Road. Goods vehicles, auto-rickshaws, and passenger buses will not be permitted on this route during the restricted hours.

In addition, all types of commercial goods vehicles are banned from traveling towards Hathua Market via Machhua Toli on Bari Path between 1 pm and 3 pm and again from 5 pm to 8 pm.

The changes are aimed at reducing traffic congestion during peak hours, improving road safety, and ensuring smoother movement in key parts of the city. Authorities have urged the public to follow the revised routes to avoid inconvenience.
