Patna: The Patna Civil Court on Wednesday concluded the hearing on the anticipatory bail plea of Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, in connection with a firing incident that took place during a dispute between coaching institutes at Musallahpur Hat on the night of June 2.
District Judge Rupesh Kumar Dev reserved the order after hearing submissions from both sides. The court is scheduled to pronounce its verdict on July 10.
Bail Pleas Before the Court
Anticipatory bail petitions were filed by Faisal Khan, director of Khan Global Studies, along with three associates — Ajit Kumar, Kanhaiya Kumar Singh and Ankit Kumar Pandey.
The court also heard the regular bail applications of two security guards arrested in the case. Both are currently lodged in Beur Jail. Orders on all pending bail pleas will be delivered on July 10.
Arguments During the Hearing
During the proceedings on July 7, Satyam Jha, appearing for the faction led by Roshan Anand, opposed Faisal Khan’s anticipatory bail plea. He submitted before the court that the petitioner had concealed details of his alleged criminal history.
Following the submission, the court directed that the criminal history be placed on record and fixed July 8 for further hearing.
The matter was taken up at around 10:30 am on Wednesday. After hearing arguments from both parties, the court reserved its order.
Background of the Case
The case relates to an incident on the night of June 2 near Khan Global Studies in Musallahpur Hat. According to the police, the Kadamkuan police station registered an FIR against Faisal Khan and two of his security personnel after a video purportedly showing firing near the coaching institute circulated on social media.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, while the court’s decision on the anticipatory bail applications is expected on July 10.
