Patna: The Bihar Education Department has stepped up preparations for the fourth phase of teacher recruitment (TRE-4), with Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari directing officials to send the recruitment requisition to the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) by July 25.
According to the department, the move is expected to pave the way for the release of the TRE-4 notification in the first week of August.
Recruitment For 46,882 Posts
TRE-4 is expected to fill 46,882 teaching vacancies across government schools in Bihar.
The proposed recruitment includes 10,778 posts in primary schools, 8,583 in middle schools, 9,082 in secondary schools and 16,774 in higher secondary schools.
Officials said the recruitment schedule had been delayed because the requisition had not been submitted to the BPSC within the expected timeline.
Minister Reviews Recruitment Progress
The directions were issued during a high-level review meeting chaired by Mithilesh Tiwari after his return from Rajasthan.
The meeting reviewed the progress of TRE-4, the functioning of model schools and the implementation of the state’s transfer policy. The minister instructed officials to complete all pending work within the prescribed timelines and said delays would not be tolerated.

Public Grievances To Be Resolved Within 30 Days
The minister directed the department to dispose of applications received from the public within 30 working days.
Officials also informed the meeting that more than 400,000 students have enrolled in model schools being established across blocks in the state. The minister asked officials to study the functioning of similar schools in other states and said a separate review meeting would be held next week.
Union Education Ministry Team To Visit Bihar
The Education Department said a team from the Union Ministry of Education is expected to visit Bihar next week to review initiatives aimed at improving educational standards and promoting innovation.
The minister directed officials to complete all necessary preparations before the visit.
Administrative Reforms Under Review
The meeting also reviewed measures to address irregularities at Simultala Residential School and approved steps to relocate the Madrasa Board to a new building.
The minister instructed Block Education Officers and District Education Officers to spend one day each month in villages to interact with parents and address local concerns related to schooling.
Coaching Policy And Monitoring Mechanism
The department is also preparing a state coaching policy after studying coaching systems in Kota and Sikar in Rajasthan.
Officials reviewed progress in generating APAAR IDs for students and directed that funds be withheld from schools failing to meet prescribed targets.
The meeting also discussed a proposal to establish a State Education Committee on the lines of the State Health Committee to strengthen monitoring of education schemes and improve transparency and accountability in implementation.
