Workers Protest at NTPC Barh Over Non-Payment, Claim 12-Hour Shifts Without Compensation

Patna: Hundreds of employees from Dushan Company, a contractor at the NTPC plant in the Barh subdivision, staged a protest at the labor gate opposing the dismissal of 40 workers. The employees claim that despite being fired, their payments have not been credited to their accounts. They gathered at the gate, demanding an immediate resolution.

Workers with valid gate passes were reportedly stopped from entering the plant. The accounts of the 40 dismissed employees were allegedly settled, but payments were withheld. One protester even claimed that he had been falsely declared deceased, resulting in his salary and PF withdrawals being blocked for over a year.

Many employees voiced concerns about being forced to work 12-hour shifts without adequate compensation. NTPC officials, however, maintained that all accounts were settled in accordance with labor laws and expressed a willingness to resolve the issue through peaceful discussions.
