Begusarai: Grand Kalash Visarjan Yatra Marks Vijayadashami Celebrations

Begusarai: Devotees in Begusarai celebrated Vijayadashami by taking out a grand Kalash Visarjan Yatra, marking the conclusion of Navratri with Aparajita Puja and Jayanti Dharan. The Yatra, accompanied by drums and music, saw the participation of thousands of male and female devotees who gathered on the streets to witness the procession.

In Ballia, a unique Kalash Visarjan Yatra was organized, continuing a decades-old tradition. The grand procession began with the Kalash from Durga temples, followed by hundreds of Kalash from several villages, including Ballia, Lakhminiya, and Sati Chowda. Crowds lined both sides of the road to witness the spectacle.

The Kalash from the Badi Durga Temple was the first to be lifted for the Visarjan. The Yatra toured the area, eventually reaching the Zila Parishad pond, where the Kalash from the temple and nearby homes were immersed together, following traditional rituals.

Rajkumar Prasad, President of the Badi Durga Puja Committee, shared that the Badi Durga Temple is over 150 years old and that the Kalash Yatra, a grand procession involving the urns from the temple and surrounding homes, is an integral part of their tradition.
