IIT Patna and RGIPT Jais Sign MoU to Strengthen Academic and Research Collaboration
Patna: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna and the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) Jais have formalized a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing academic initiatives and fostering collaborative research. The signing ceremony took place on 14 October, bringing together two prestigious institutions of national importance.
The MoU was signed by Professor T. N. Singh, Director of IIT Patna, and Professor Alok Kumar Singh, Director of RGIPT. The event also featured the participation of several distinguished faculty members, including Prof. M. S. Balathanigaimani, Dean of R&D at RGIPT; Dr. Ankur Pandey, Assistant Dean of R&D at RGIPT; Dr. Anup Keshri, Associate Dean of R&D at IIT Patna; Dr. Subrata Hait, Dean of Postgraduate Studies; Dr. Sushant Kumar, Dean of Undergraduate Studies; Dr. Anoop Kumar Gupta, Head of Chemical and Bio-Chemical Engineering at IIT Patna; and Dr. Milan Kumar, Head of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at RGIPT, along with other staff members from both institutions.
During the ceremony, Professor T. N. Singh highlighted the significance of this partnership, noting that the collaboration would greatly enhance research capabilities, allowing both institutions to address industrial and societal challenges more effectively. The MoU outlines key areas for potential collaboration, including faculty, staff, and student exchanges, the sharing of scientific and technical information, and joint research projects.
Additional collaborative efforts will involve student training programs and joint supervision of postgraduate and PhD candidates, providing a comprehensive approach to academic development. This MoU represents a pivotal advancement in enriching the academic landscape and promoting a collaborative spirit between IIT Patna and RGIPT, paving the way for groundbreaking research and innovation across various fields.
