Patna: The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued a clarification after a purported notification regarding the recruitment of teachers and headmasters under the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4 circulated widely on social media. The Commission said the document, which gained traction on Monday, was fake and had not been issued by BPSC.
The clarification comes amid speculation among teacher recruitment aspirants after the forged notice claimed that the Commission had received a requisition to recruit teachers for Classes 1 to 12 across multiple state departments. BPSC urged candidates to disregard the viral document and verify all recruitment-related information only through its official channels.
What The Viral Notice Claimed
According to the fake notification, recruitment was to be conducted for teachers and headmasters in schools under the Education Department, the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department, and the Backward Classes Welfare Department.
The forged document also claimed that an official recruitment advertisement for TRE 4 would be released shortly, prompting widespread discussion among candidates awaiting the next phase of teacher recruitment in Bihar.
How The Fake Notice Appeared Authentic
The misleading notification carried the date July 27 and purportedly bore the signature of the Controller of Examinations, making it appear genuine. According to the Commission, these details were fabricated and should not be treated as authentic.
After the notice began circulating widely on social media, BPSC issued an official rebuttal stating that no such notification had been released by the Commission.
BPSC Advises Candidates To Verify Information
The Commission has appealed to candidates not to rely on unverified posts or notices shared on social media. It said all information related to recruitment, examinations, advertisements and other official matters should be verified through authorised sources before being accepted as genuine.
BPSC also reiterated that any future announcements regarding teacher recruitment or examinations would be published only on its official website and through its verified social media handles.

The Commission has advised aspirants to remain cautious about misleading information circulating online and avoid acting on unofficial notices. Candidates awaiting updates on TRE 4 have been asked to monitor only the official BPSC website and the Commission’s authorised communication channels for recruitment notifications.
The clarification comes as thousands of teacher recruitment aspirants continue to await official announcements regarding the next phase of appointments in Bihar. Until then, BPSC said, only notifications issued through its official platforms should be considered valid.
