Bihar Film Conclave 2024 Inaugurated in Patna for the First Time

Patna: The Bihar Film Conclave 2024 was organized for the first time by the Bihar State Film Development and Finance Corporation under the Department of Art, Culture and Youth at Hotel Taj, Patna. The event was inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, with the presence of MP and actor Manoj Tiwari, MP and actor Ravi Kishan, Development Commissioner Chaitanya Prasad, Secretary of Art, Culture and Youth Department Dayanidhan Pandey, General Manager Rahul Kumar, and many other notable figures from the film industry.

During the conclave, the dignitaries released a coffee table book titled “Bihar Bioscope,” which highlights the contributions of Bihari filmmakers and showcases scenic shooting locations across the state. The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized Bihar’s rich cultural and historical heritage and spoke about the Bihar Film Promotion Policy, aiming to make the state a key film destination. He encouraged artists and filmmakers to use their talent to promote Bihar’s legacy on a global stage.

Manoj Tiwari and Ravi Kishan highlighted the benefits of the new policy, urging filmmakers to invest in Bihar and improve the quality of local films. They also advocated for upgrading cinema halls and discussed the need for a film city in the state, with commitments to building new studios if such a plan materializes.

Development Commissioner Chaitanya Prasad outlined the objectives of the Bihar Film Promotion Policy, including grants ranging from Rs 2 crore to Rs 4 crore for filmmakers, with additional incentives for regional language films. He revealed plans to hold a similar conclave in Mumbai in December to promote Bihar’s potential as a film hub.
