Patna: The Bihar government has lifted the ban on the purchase, sale and transfer of land in the notified area of the Patliputra Greenfield Satellite Township with immediate effect, allowing farmers and landowners to resume land transactions.
The Urban Development Department issued a notification announcing that the restrictions on land transactions in the proposed satellite township have been withdrawn from August 1.
Development Plan-2047 Draft Approved
The decision follows a meeting held on July 31 under the chairmanship of the Development Commissioner, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Bihar Urban Planning and Development Board.
During the meeting, the board approved the publication of the Development Plan-2047 (Draft) for the special area of the Patliputra Greenfield Satellite Township in the official gazette. The draft plan has been notified to seek suggestions and objections from the public.
Public Consultation Open for 60 Days
The Urban Development Department has invited residents and stakeholders to submit suggestions or objections to the draft development plan within 60 days of its publication.
Representations can be sent by post, courier or email to Manoj Kumar, Additional Secretary, Urban Development Department, who has been designated to receive public feedback.
What the Decision Means
With the restrictions now withdrawn, landowners in the designated special area are free to buy, sell or transfer land while the state government proceeds with the statutory consultation process for the township’s long-term development plan.
The consultation period is expected to help the government incorporate public feedback before finalising the Development Plan-2047 for the Patliputra Greenfield Satellite Township.
