Patna: Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on Friday, August 28, with the Purnima Tithi prevailing at sunrise. According to astrologer, the festival will not be affected by Bhadra or eclipse-related Sutak in India.
He said the Purnima Tithi of the Shravan month will end at 9:27 AM on August 28. However, under the Udaya Tithi rule, the festival will be observed throughout the day because Purnima prevails at sunrise.
No Bhadra On Raksha Bandhan
The Bhadra period will end on Thursday, August 27, allowing Rakhi ceremonies to be performed throughout Friday, August 28.
The festival will fall under Shatabhisha Nakshatra. Bhadra is traditionally considered unsuitable for auspicious ceremonies, including the tying of Rakhi.
The most prominent Muhurat timings on August 28 include Char-Labh-Amrit Muhurat from 5:29 AM to 10:15 AM, Abhijit Muhurat from 11:25 AM to 12:16 PM and a special auspicious period from 11:51 AM to 1:26 PM.
Eclipse Will Not Affect Raksha Bandhan In India
A partial lunar eclipse is scheduled to occur on August 28 from 8:04 AM to 11:22 AM. However, the eclipse will not be visible from India, including Patna.
As a result, the associated nine-hour Sutak period will not apply in India, according to the information provided by astrologer.
The eclipse is expected to be visible from parts of Antarctica, Africa, Asia and Europe, as well as the Indian Ocean, Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean.
Friday-Purnima Conjunction
This year’s Raksha Bandhan will coincide with Friday and Purnima. In astrology, Friday is associated with happiness, harmony and relationships, while Purnima represents the full Moon.
