Patna: The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced a major recruitment drive for 4,029 posts, offering government job opportunities to candidates with engineering diplomas and relevant science qualifications.
The recruitment includes vacancies for Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online until September 13, 2026.

Who Can Apply?
For the Junior Engineer and Depot Material Superintendent posts, candidates must generally possess a three-year diploma in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognised institution.
For the Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant post, candidates with a B.Sc. degree having Physics and Chemistry as subjects from a recognised university or institute can apply.

Age Limit
The prescribed age limit for the recruitment is 18 to 33 years.
Age relaxation will be available to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government rules. SC and ST candidates will receive up to five years of relaxation, while OBC candidates will be eligible for up to three years of relaxation in the upper age limit.
Salary and Pay Scale
Candidates selected for these railway posts will receive an initial basic salary of ₹35,400 per month under Pay Matrix Level-6, along with other applicable allowances and benefits as per railway rules.
RRB JE Selection Process
The selection process will include two stages of computer-based examination, followed by document verification and a medical examination.
CBT-1 will be a 90-minute online examination carrying 100 multiple-choice questions:
- Mathematics – 30 questions
- General Science – 30 questions
- Reasoning – 25 questions
- General Awareness – 15 questions
Candidates who qualify for the first stage will appear for CBT-2.
CBT-2 will be a 120-minute examination comprising 150 questions. It will include 100 questions on technical ability and 50 questions covering General Awareness, Physics and Chemistry, Computers and Environmental Studies.
Candidates who clear the required stages will subsequently be called for document verification and a medical examination.

Application Fee
The application fee has been prescribed as follows:
- General/OBC/EWS: ₹500
- Women/SC/ST/PwD: ₹250
