Patna: The ongoing student protest at Gardanibagh over recruitment examinations and demands concerning the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) and Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) took a new turn on Saturday after student leader Raushan Anand visited the hunger strike site and called for unity among different groups.

Anand urged student leaders to come together on a single platform, arguing that a united movement would give greater force to the students’ demands.

He also said that if the different student groups failed to unite, he would personally take responsibility for leading the agitation.

Anand Claims To Have Information On Commission

Anand arrived at the protest site carrying a file and claimed it contained important information concerning the commission.

He said he would not make the contents public immediately and linked their disclosure to the formation of a common platform among the protesting students.

Anand described the information as relating to the commission’s alleged “dark secrets”. The claims have not been independently verified.

Hint At BPSC And BSSC Office Siege

Anand also spoke about laying siege to the offices of the BPSC and BSSC to press for the students’ demands.

He indicated that the agitation could be expanded if the demands were not addressed, bringing the possibility of further action into focus.

No official confirmation has been made about any planned programme or date for such an action.

No Agreement Reached With Dilip

During his visit, Anand also met student leader Dilip and sought to bring his group onto a common platform.

According to Anand, the discussion did not result in an agreement. There has been no clear public statement from Dilip explaining his position on the proposed unity.

The lack of consensus highlights the continuing differences among groups involved in the wider student movement.

Students Raise Multiple Recruitment Demands

The protest at Gardanibagh has brought together several demands related to government recruitment and competitive examinations.

These include the notification for TRE-4, greater transparency in examination processes, a single-examination system, removal of negative marking and issues concerning BSSC and other recruitment examinations.

The demands have remained a focus of the student agitation since mid-August, with different groups raising concerns over recruitment procedures and examination policies.

The latest developments have again put the questions of leadership and unity at the centre of the protest. The direction of the movement will depend on whether the different student groups can reach an agreement on a common platform and future course of action.
