Hajipur: To accommodate the surge in passengers during Diwali and Chhath Puja, East Central Railway (ECR) will operate 17 additional pairs of special trains, along with one one-way Puja special. This brings the total to 142 pairs of special trains passing through or originating in the ECR zone. These trains aim to facilitate smooth travel for the large number of people journeying during the festive season.
Train number 04608 Jammu Tawi-Howrah Puja Special will run on October 30 and November 4, 2024, departing from Jammu Tawi at 20.20 hrs and arriving in Howrah the next day at 13.20 hrs. On the return leg, train number 04607 will leave Howrah at 23.45 hrs on November 1 and November 6, 2024, reaching Jammu Tawi at 15.20 hrs the next day. This train will include various classes of AC and first-class coaches and will travel via Dhanbad, Gaya, and Lucknow.
Train number 04680 Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Kamakhya Puja Special will operate on October 28 and November 2, 2024, departing from Katra at 18.40 hrs and arriving in Kamakhya the following day at 21.00 hrs. In return, train number 04679 will leave Kamakhya at 06.00 hrs on October 31 and November 5, 2024, reaching Katra the next day at 06.20 hrs. This service will include AC III, AC II, and AC First-class coaches, passing through New Jalpaiguri and Barauni Junction.
The Amritsar-Saharsa Puja Special (train number 04662) will leave Amritsar on October 29 and November 3, 2024 at 20.10 hrs, reaching Saharsa at 05.00 hrs the next day. On the return, train number 04661 will depart from Saharsa at 10.00 hrs on October 31 and November 5, 2024, arriving in Amritsar at 06.20 hrs the next day.
Other notable services include train number 04520 Ambala-Darbhanga Puja Special, departing from Ambala on October 25, 2024 at 19.00 hrs and reaching Darbhanga at the same time the following day. The return train, number 04519, will leave Darbhanga on October 26, 2024 at 21.30 hrs, reaching Ambala the next morning.
In addition, train number 06055 Coimbatore-Barauni Special will run every Saturday from October 26 to November 16, 2024, departing from Coimbatore at 11.50 hrs and arriving in Barauni on Monday at 14.30 hrs. The return journey (train number 06056) will operate every Tuesday from October 29 to November 19, 2024, leaving Barauni at 23.45 hrs and arriving in Coimbatore on Friday.
Train number 09461 Ahmedabad-Danapur Special will run every Saturday from October 26 to November 16, 2024, departing from Ahmedabad at 08.25 hrs and reaching Danapur at 16.50 hrs the following day. The return train, number 09462, will leave Danapur every Sunday from October 27 to November 17, 2024 at 21.55 hrs, reaching Ahmedabad on Tuesday.
