Bihar Assembly to Recruit for 350 Posts; Previous Applicants Need Not Reapply
Patna: The Bihar Assembly will soon open recruitment for 350 posts, with advertisements expected to be released within 15 days after the Chhath festival. A new recruitment agency, ICEF, has taken over, replacing IIP, the previous agency that failed to provide data on prior applicants despite repeated reminders.
Following a legal warning, IIP began returning applicant data, enabling ICEF to proceed with the recruitment process. Candidates who previously applied need not reapply, but new applicants will have the opportunity to fill out forms.
Under the tenure of former Speaker Awadh Bihari Chaudhary, recruitment for 69 security guard positions was canceled, citing lack of transparency and malpractice by IIP, which conducted the examination. Although IIP contested the termination in court, the decision was upheld, leading to ICEF’s appointment as the new recruitment agency.
In other developments, Bihar will host the All India Presiding Officers Conference from January 20 to 23, 2024, marking the event’s return to the state after 42 years. Key legislative leaders, including Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and presiding officers from all Indian assemblies and councils, will convene to discuss pressing issues affecting legislative bodies.
