Bihar Ranks Lowest in U-Dias School Information Uploads
Patna: Bihar has the lowest rate of school information uploads on the Ministry of Education’s U-Dias portal, with only 60.52% of its schools providing complete data. In contrast, neighboring Jharkhand has updated information for 99.77% of its schools, and Uttar Pradesh has uploaded data for 98.10% of schools.
The U-Dias portal serves as a national database for registered schools, including government and private institutions, and it requires schools to update profiles detailing student information, school facilities, and teacher profiles. A lack of complete data means students may miss out on the benefits of government schemes designed for educational support.
Bihar has 94,598 registered schools, but data for only 57,255 schools has been uploaded, leaving updates for 37,343 schools still pending. Patna district alone has 4,864 registered schools, with only 757 having submitted information, while 4,107 schools are yet to update their records on the portal.
This lag in information upload highlights a significant gap in Bihar’s education data management, potentially impacting the effective implementation of educational schemes for students across the state.
