Patna: The Bihar government has transferred six IAS officers and assigned them new responsibilities, according to a notification issued by the General Administration Department on Friday.
The reshuffle includes changes in the postings of the Deputy Development Commissioners (DDCs) of Nawada and Kaimur. Several officers who were awaiting postings have also been given new assignments.
Ujjwal Kumar Singh Gets Rural Development Posting
Ujjwal Kumar Singh, a 2011-batch IAS officer and former Director of the Animal Husbandry Department, has been appointed Special Secretary in the Rural Development Department.
He will take over the new responsibility with immediate effect, as per the government order.
Shrikant Shastri Appointed Animal Husbandry Director
Shrikant Shastri, a 2012-batch IAS officer who was awaiting a posting, has been appointed Director of the Animal Husbandry Department.
Shastri previously served as the District Magistrate of Begusarai. He was transferred from the post last week as part of an earlier administrative reshuffle.
Former Siwan DM Gets IPR Department Role
Vivek Ranjan Maitrey, a 2017-batch IAS officer and former District Magistrate of Siwan, has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Information and Public Relations Department.
Maitrey was among the officers moved out of district-level assignments in the recent round of transfers.
Nitin Kumar Singh Appointed Secondary Education Director
Nitin Kumar Singh, a 2018-batch IAS officer who was awaiting posting, has been appointed Director of Secondary Education.
The appointment comes amid changes in several administrative departments across the state.
DDCs Of Nawada And Kaimur Transferred
Nilima Sahu, a 2021-batch IAS officer serving as DDC of Nawada, has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Health Department.
Divya Shakti, a 2022-batch IAS officer and DDC of Kaimur, has been appointed Commissioner of the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department. She has previously held administrative responsibilities in Patna.
More Administrative Reshuffles
The latest transfers come amid a wider administrative reshuffle in Bihar. Several IAS and IPS officers have already been transferred during August, while officers of the Bihar Administrative Service have also received new postings.
