Patna: Bihar has approved 26 industrial projects involving a proposed investment of Rs 505.27 crore, giving a fresh push to industrial development and employment generation in the state.
The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has allocated 33.08 acres of industrial land for the approved projects. Once the proposed units are established and begin production, they are expected to create around 5,000 employment opportunities.
Projects to Cover Multiple Industrial Sectors
The approved projects span several sectors, including food processing, textiles, leather garments, bags and belts, animal feed and general manufacturing.
The range of proposed investments is expected to expand industrial activity across multiple sectors rather than concentrating development in a single industry.
BIADA Approves Plug-and-Play Shed Proposals
BIADA’s Project Clearance Committee has also approved proposals related to the allocation of plug-and-play sheds to facilitate the establishment of industrial units.
The initiative is aimed at helping businesses set up operations more quickly by providing ready-to-use industrial infrastructure, potentially reducing the time required to begin production.
The proposals were discussed at a meeting chaired by Industries Secretary Kundan Kumar. Representatives of major industrial organisations involved in investment-related matters also attended the meeting.
Industries Minister Highlights Employment Potential
Bihar Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh said the approval of new projects would contribute to the expansion of manufacturing activities in the state while creating opportunities for employment and skill development.
She said continued support for new industrial investments would help strengthen Bihar’s industrial base and generate more employment opportunities, particularly for people within the state.
Focus on Industrial Growth and Job Creation
The approval of the 26 projects comes as Bihar continues efforts to attract industrial investment and strengthen its manufacturing ecosystem.
With a proposed investment of Rs 505.27 crore and the potential to create around 5,000 jobs, the projects are expected to contribute to industrial activity and employment generation once they are implemented.
