Woman’s Dismembered Body Found in Patna’s Khusrupur Area; Police Investigate Brutal Murder

Patna: A 55-year-old woman named Sarita Devi was beaten to death in Naya Tola of Dayachak, Barh subdivision, Patna. The incident occurred after accusations arose that Sarita’s son, Golu Kumar, had eloped with the daughter of their neighbor, Shyam Yadav. According to locals, Golu and the girl had been in a relationship for several months. When the girl was discovered missing from her home around 3:00 a.m., her family suspected she had run away with Golu. Dial 112 was notified, and a police team arrived at the scene.

Local sources report that tensions between the two families had been ongoing due to previous alleged incidents involving Golu and the girl. In the morning, as Sarita Devi stepped out of her house, Shyam Yadav’s family confronted and attacked her, inflicting severe injuries. She succumbed to her injuries before reaching the hospital.

The deceased’s family claims they had no involvement in the girl’s disappearance and were unaware of her whereabouts. They alleged that Shyam Yadav’s family had been searching for the girl since late at night, blaming Golu and accusing him of harassment. When Sarita Devi stepped outside, they reportedly assaulted her in retaliation.

The girl’s family alleges she had been harassed by Golu in the past, leading to multiple disputes between the two families. Sarita Devi’s family states the girl has previously left home on multiple occasions, creating tension in the neighborhood. The police are currently investigating the incident to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Sarita Devi’s death.
