Patna : The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has announced the schedule for the 2026-27 half-yearly examinations for Classes 9 to 12. The examinations will begin on September 18, 2026, with separate schedules for Classes 9, 10 and 12.
The half-yearly examinations are intended to assess students’ academic preparation and help them identify areas that require greater attention before the board examinations.
Class 12 Exams From September 18
The Class 12 half-yearly examinations will be held from September 18 to September 26, 2026.
For Classes 9 and 10, the examinations will take place from September 21 to September 23.
Students should check the examination schedule carefully and organise their revision according to the subjects and the time available.
Exams In Two Shifts
The examinations will be conducted in two shifts.
The first shift will be held from 9:30am to 12:45pm, while the second shift will run from 2pm to 5:15pm.
Students will also receive 15 minutes of additional time to read and understand the question paper before beginning the examination.
Focus On Revision
With the exams approaching, students should concentrate primarily on topics already covered in the syllabus.
Instead of attempting to study a large number of new topics at the last minute, students can follow a regular revision schedule. Preparing short notes, important formulas and key concepts can make revision more manageable.
Practise Time Management
Time management is another important part of examination preparation. Students can practise solving model papers within a fixed time limit to improve their speed and become familiar with completing a paper within the allotted period.
Having a basic strategy for allocating time to different sections can also help students avoid spending too long on a single question.
Keep Examination Stress Under Control
Exam pressure can affect concentration, particularly when students leave preparation until the last few days. Maintaining a regular study routine, getting adequate sleep and taking short breaks can help students stay focused.
Students should also maintain a balanced routine and avoid excessive last-minute studying.
Stay Positive And Confident
Students are advised to remain confident about their preparation and avoid allowing examination fear to affect their performance.
The half-yearly examinations can also provide an opportunity to identify weak areas and improve them before the board examinations. Regular revision and consistent practice can help students approach the exams with greater confidence.
