Patna, September 8: Bihar has stepped up its efforts to attract international investment in the food processing sector, with the Industries Department exchanging a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AIM Global Foundation at the AIM Congress 2026 in Dubai.
The agreement seeks to promote a dedicated Food Processing Park in Bihar, with investments expected from companies, institutions and investors in the UAE and wider Gulf region.
According to the Bihar Industries Department, the initiative is aimed at strengthening the state’s agri-food ecosystem and creating stronger links between Bihar’s agricultural production and international food markets.
Integrated Food Processing Cluster Planned
Under the MoU, the Bihar Industries Department and AIM Global Foundation will work towards developing an integrated agri-food and food processing cluster in the state.
The proposed cluster will seek to attract investment across the food processing ecosystem while leveraging Bihar’s existing agricultural strengths.
The initiative also aims to position Bihar as a sourcing and processing base for Gulf food supply chains, potentially creating new avenues for businesses involved in agricultural production, processing and related activities.
MoU Signed In Dubai
The MoU was exchanged in the presence of Bihar Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh during the AIM Congress 2026 in Dubai.
It was signed by Kundan Kumar, Secretary of the Bihar Industries Department, and Dawood Al-Shezawi, President of AIM Global Foundation. Mukul Kumar Gupta, Director, Industries, Government of Bihar, was also present at the event.
The signing took place on the sidelines of the investment congress, as Bihar seeks to expand its engagement with international investors.
Focus On UAE And Gulf Investment
Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh said the partnership would support Bihar’s efforts to become a preferred investment destination.
According to the department’s statement, Singh said the proposed food processing park could help farmers and industries connect with global supply chains while supporting the state’s broader industrial development objectives.
The department said the partnership would draw on investment interest from the UAE and the wider Gulf region, with the two sides working to identify specific opportunities in the food processing sector.
Engagement To Continue Ahead Of Rising Bihar 2026
Industries Department Secretary Kundan Kumar said the MoU provides a foundation for structured engagement between Bihar and UAE-based investors in food processing.
He said the department would work with AIM Global Foundation to identify concrete investment opportunities and take the partnership forward ahead of Rising Bihar 2026.
The agreement reflects Bihar’s growing focus on attracting global investment into its agri-food, food processing and wider industrial ecosystem, with the state seeking to use its agricultural base to develop stronger domestic and international market linkages.
