Muzaffarpur firing loot

Muzaffarpur, 29th October 2024: In a shocking incident, a finance employee was shot, and ₹8 lakh was robbed by three criminals in Muzaffarpur. The brazen crime occurred near the Sadatpur Shani temple in the Kanti police station area, and a 28-second video of the incident has surfaced, capturing the horrifying moments.

The video shows a man standing on the road with a bag when one of the assailants approaches him, brandishing a pistol. As the gunman threatens the finance employee, another criminal begins to snatch the bag from him. In a bid to save his nephew, the employee’s uncle, Dinanath Kumar, rushes to the scene.

The armed criminal initially signals Dinanath to retreat before firing at him. The bullet struck Dinanath in the right knee, causing him to stumble backward. Meanwhile, the criminals successfully grabbed the bag containing cash and fled towards Motihari.

Describing the traumatic incident, Dinanath said, “I have been working as a cash collector in a finance company for three years. On Monday night, I was closing the shutter of the shop with my nephew, who had two bags—one with a laptop and the other containing ₹8 lakh in cash. Initially, two criminals approached us, claiming they were there for a money transfer. Suddenly, another assailant came from the other side, stating that a recharge was needed. Before my nephew could comprehend the situation, they demanded the bag. When I bent down, they pointed a gun at me. As I took two steps back, they shot me, and one bullet hit my ear, leaving it numb.”

Dinanath sustained a gunshot wound to his right knee and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment after local residents gathered at the scene and notified the Kanti police station.

Kanti police station in-charge Sudhakar Pandey confirmed that the investigation has commenced. “The injured has been sent to the hospital for treatment. The exact amount of the loot is still unclear,” he stated.
