Hajipur: The General Manager of East Central Railway, Chhatrasal Singh, conducted a high-level review meeting with department heads and officials at the Headquarters in Hajipur. Key issues discussed included safe rail operations, passenger amenities, and ongoing construction projects.
In preparation for the Diwali and Chhath festival rush, the General Manager reviewed crowd management and passenger facilities, emphasising security measures. He directed officials to set up holding areas at major stations by November 6-7 to manage crowds efficiently and to allow platform entry based on train schedules. He also called for the creation of a “war room” to monitor crowds continuously through CCTV, enhancing 24-hour surveillance across stations.
To address the increased passenger volume, additional ticket counters have been opened, and enquiry office staff have been instructed to stay alert with real-time updates on train schedules. Regular announcements regarding train arrivals and departures are to be ensured. Special trains have also been arranged to accommodate the surge in passengers during the festivals.
The meeting included all department heads and senior officials from the headquarters, with divisional railway managers from the five divisions joining through video conferencing to coordinate the festival preparations across the region.
