Patna: The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Limited (BSTDC) has launched special Pind Daan tourism packages for pilgrims travelling to Bihar and Gaya-ji from across India and abroad during the Pitripaksha Mela 2026.
Introduced on the direction of the Tourism Department, the packages will be available from September 25 to October 10, 2026. They combine Pind Daan rituals, religious visits, transportation, accommodation, meals, priest services and required puja materials.
Pilgrims can choose between one-day and two-day packages depending on their travel plans and budget.

Five Pind Daan packages
Package A: Patna-Punpun-Gaya-Patna
This one-day package includes pick-up and drop-off from locations within a 10-km radius of Patna city, Patna railway station or Patna airport.
A sedan or hatchback will be provided. The package includes Pind Daan at Punpun Ghat, including fees and puja materials, followed by rituals at the Falgu River, Vishnupad Temple and Akshayavat in Gaya-ji.
Accommodation in hotels ranging from budget AC properties to three-star hotels and a vegetarian lunch are included.
Prices range from Rs 14,550 to Rs 30,650, depending on the hotel category, facilities and group size of one to four passengers.
Package B: Patna-Punpun-Gaya-Nalanda-Rajgir-Patna
The two-day, one-night package combines Pind Daan with visits to Rajgir and Nalanda.
It includes transport from Patna, Pind Daan services at Punpun and Gaya-ji, puja materials, accommodation and vegetarian breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The itinerary includes visits to the Vishwa Shanti Stupa in Rajgir and the ancient ruins of Nalanda. Entry tickets to monuments and tourist sites are not included.
Prices range from Rs 18,850 to Rs 40,700, depending on the hotel category, facilities and number of passengers.
Package C: Gaya-ji One-Day Pind Daan
This one-day package is designed for pilgrims travelling directly to Gaya-ji. Pick-up and drop-off are available from Gaya railway station, Gaya airport or a place of worship within a 15-km radius.
The package includes local transport by sedan or hatchback, Tarpan at the Falgu River and Pind Daan rituals at Vishnupad Temple and Akshayavat.
Services of a Pandaji, Pind Daan fees, puja materials, accommodation and vegetarian lunch are also included.
Prices range from Rs 11,250 to Rs 25,250 for groups of one to four passengers, depending on the hotel category and facilities.
Package D: Gaya-ji Two-Day Pind Daan Package
The one-night, two-day package is designed particularly for pilgrims who need to perform rituals during late-night, morning or evening hours.
It includes pick-up and drop-off from Gaya railway station, Gaya airport or a place of worship, local transport, accommodation and vegetarian lunch and dinner.
The package covers Tarpan at the Falgu River and Pind Daan at Vishnupad Temple and Akshayavat.
Prices range from Rs 16,000 to Rs 39,500, depending on hotel category, facilities and group size.
Package E: Gaya-Rajgir-Nalanda
This one-night, two-day package combines Pind Daan at Gaya-ji with sightseeing in Rajgir and Nalanda.
It includes pick-up and drop-off from Gaya railway station, airport or places of worship within a 15-km radius, local transportation, Pind Daan services, worship materials and accommodation.
Pilgrims will receive vegetarian breakfast, lunch, an afternoon meal and dinner. The package also includes visits to the Vishwa Shanti Stupa in Rajgir and the ancient ruins of Nalanda.
Monument and tourist-site entry tickets are not included.
Prices range from Rs 16,550 to Rs 32,850, depending on the group size and hotel category.
E-Pind Daan facility for pilgrims unable to travel
BSTDC has also introduced an online E-Pind Daan package for people unable to visit Gaya-ji in person.
The package costs Rs 23,000, inclusive of GST, and covers Pind Daan rituals at Vishnupad Temple, Akshayavat and the Falgu River, or Tarpan at the river.
It includes the services of a priest, puja materials and Dakshina, along with a complete video recording of the rituals provided on a pen drive.
According to the package details, a priest will conduct the rituals at all three major sites according to prescribed traditions. The recording will include the chanting of mantras, offerings of Dakshina and the use of worship materials.
The packages are intended to provide pilgrims with an integrated arrangement for Pind Daan and associated religious and tourism activities during the Pitripaksha period.
