Patna : A minor college student in Patna has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by a young man she knew in the Shastrinagar police station area.
The student, who is pursuing her first year of graduation, approached the police along with her family after the alleged incident and submitted a written complaint.
According to the complaint, the student had been in contact with the accused and the two had communicated with each other.
Alleged Incident After College Visit
The student told police that the accused came near her college on Friday and allegedly took her along on the pretext of visiting a mall.
She alleged that he subsequently took her to a room in the bypass area, where the alleged assault took place.
The police have begun investigating the allegations based on the complaint and the student’s statement.
Medical Examination Conducted
Following the complaint, police arranged a medical examination of the student at a government hospital in Gardiner Road, Patna, on Sunday.
Police also gathered further information from the student as part of the investigation.
Police Tracing Accused
The student provided police with the mobile number through which she had been communicating with the accused.
Investigators are using the number to establish the identity and location of the accused. Police are also conducting searches at possible locations as part of efforts to trace him.
Police have confirmed that an FIR has been registered in connection with the allegations.
As the investigation is ongoing, further details have not been disclosed by authorities.
