Jamui: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a public gathering in the Khaira block of Jamui district on November 15, marking the 150th birth anniversary of tribal icon Birsa Munda. Preparations for the event are underway at the Ballapur river ghat, where a team from Delhi recently inspected the venue alongside District Magistrate Abhilasha Sharma and Superintendent of Police Chandraprakash. While official details from the district administration remain undisclosed, BJP sources have confirmed the event.
BJP District President Kanhaiya Singh shared that groundwork has begun, with a helipad being constructed near the Ballapur river ghat and the field being leveled with heavy machinery. According to Singh, communication about the Prime Minister’s visit is currently informal, as no official notice has been received from the Prime Minister’s Office.
Sources suggest that PM Modi will be joined by prominent leaders, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, and Governor Rajendra Arlekar, underscoring the event’s significance.
This gathering coincides with a politically charged period, as Jharkhand will be holding assembly elections on November 13 and 20. With election campaigning ceasing in Jharkhand after November 13, Modi’s Jamui visit could serve dual purposes — honoring Birsa Munda’s legacy while also energizing voters in the neighboring state. BJP insiders note that this event may also signal an early start to campaigning for Bihar’s 2025 assembly elections, with Jamui as the focal point.
