Bihar CM Nitish Kumar Reviews Chhath Preparations on Ganga Ghats in Patna
Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday conducted an inspection of the J.P. Setu Ghat and Digha Ganga Ghat to review preparations for Chhath Puja. During his visit, the Chief Minister assessed the barricading, cleanliness, and security arrangements made for devotees and provided further instructions to officials.
With the festival beginning tomorrow, CM Nitish urged the administration to remain vigilant and ensure seamless arrangements at the Chhath ghats. He emphasized that no devotee should face any difficulties while offering Arghya (offerings to the Sun God) and called for strict attention to safety, cleanliness, and public facilities. “There should be no disruption to the movement of devotees, and traffic must remain safe and fluid,” Nitish said, highlighting the importance of smooth logistics throughout the festival.
Following the inspection, the Chief Minister inaugurated the ‘Ganga Utsav’ at J.P. Setu Ghat and Digha Ganga Ghat by lighting a ceremonial lamp, marking the commencement of the festival.
The inspection was attended by Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitin Nabeen, Patna Mayor Sita Sahu, Principal Secretaries to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar and Dr. S. Siddharth, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Gopal Singh, Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh, Senior Superintendent of Police Rajiv Mishra, Patna Municipal Corporation Commissioner Animesh Parasar, along with other senior officials.
