Patna: Six leaders from Bihar have been given organisational responsibilities in different states as part of the BJP’s latest national-level reshuffle.
Former Bihar BJP state president Mangal Pandey has been appointed the party’s in-charge for Assam, moving from his previous responsibility in West Bengal. Devesh Kumar has been appointed in-charge for Arunachal Pradesh after previously handling Mizoram.
Siddharth Shambhu has been appointed co-in-charge of Chhattisgarh, Nivedita Singh co-in-charge of Jharkhand, while Rajendra Singh and Pinky Kushwaha have been named co-in-charges for West Bengal.
Mangal Pandey Moves From West Bengal To Assam
Mangal Pandey, a former Bihar BJP state president, has been assigned responsibility for Assam after serving as the party’s West Bengal in-charge for nearly four years.
Pandey, who hails from Siwan, has been associated with the organisation since his student days. He served as health and law minister in the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government.
Devesh Kumar To Handle Arunachal Pradesh
Devesh Kumar has been moved from Mizoram to Arunachal Pradesh as the state in-charge.
According to the supplied information, he had vacated his MLC seat last month, after which Minister Deepak Prakash was nominated to the Bihar Legislative Council in his place. Devesh Kumar was subsequently appointed vice-chairman of the Bihar State Planning Board with cabinet minister status and associated facilities.
He is originally from Samastipur district.
Nivedita Singh Named Jharkhand Co-In-Charge
Bihar Legislative Council member Nivedita Singh has been appointed co-in-charge of Jharkhand.
Originally from Patna, she is active in Rohtas and Kaimur districts. She was nominated to the Bihar Legislative Council under the Governor’s quota in 2021 and has previously served as a BJP state vice-president.
Her mother-in-law, Prabhavati Singh, previously served as an MLA from the Ramgarh constituency in Kaimur.
Rajendra Singh And Pinky Kushwaha Get Bengal Role
Rajendra Singh and Pinky Kushwaha have been appointed co-in-charges for West Bengal.
Rajendra Singh has contested the Dinara Assembly constituency in Rohtas twice — on a BJP ticket in 2015 and an LJP ticket in 2020. He subsequently returned to the BJP and has held organisational responsibilities, including serving as Bihar BJP state general secretary and organisational general secretary for Jharkhand.
Pinky Kushwaha, a native of Lakhisarai district, is a member of the Bihar State Women’s Commission and has previously served as a BJP state vice-president.
Siddharth Shambhu Gets Chhattisgarh Responsibility
Siddharth Shambhu has been appointed co-in-charge of Chhattisgarh.
A national secretary of the BJP, Shambhu has previously held organisational positions including state vice-president and state secretary. He has also served as a member of the national executive committee of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha.
Originally from Motihari, Shambhu has held various organisational responsibilities within the party.
Six Bihar Leaders In Five States
The latest appointments give six Bihar leaders responsibilities across five states: Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and West Bengal. The BJP’s announced list confirms the appointments of Mangal Pandey, Devesh Kumar, Siddharth Shambhu, Nivedita Singh, Rajendra Singh and Pinky Kushwaha to these organisational roles.
