Patna: Train services in Bihar will be affected on Thursday as railway authorities undertake Pre-Interlocking (Pre-NI) and Non-Interlocking (NI) works to connect the new rail bridge over the Ganges at Mokama with the existing rail network.
According to the railway administration, 23 trains linked to the Danapur and Sonpur divisions of East Central Railway have been cancelled, while 22 others will operate through diverted routes.
Passengers have been advised to check their train’s latest status and route before travelling to the station.
Technical Work At Five Stations
The railway is carrying out technical work at Rajendra Pul Mokama, Hathidah Junction Upper, Tal, Rampur Dumra and Dinkar Gram Simaria stations.
The work is part of the process to integrate the new rail bridge into the existing railway network. Once the works are completed, the operational arrangements for the new rail section will be finalised.

22 Trains To Run On Diverted Routes
Apart from the cancellations, the routes of 22 trains will be changed because of the Pre-NI and NI works.
The diversions are expected to affect passengers travelling through the Mokama–Hathidah section and adjoining routes. Passengers should verify the revised route and operational status of their train before departure.
New Bridge To Be Integrated Into Rail Network
The technical works are part of the final-stage process to connect the new rail bridge over the Ganges at Mokama with the existing railway network.
The railway administration is completing the work in phases. After the Pre-NI and NI activities are completed, the new bridge will be integrated into regular train operations, improving rail connectivity across the section
