Patna: Patna Traffic Police has launched action against vehicle drivers allegedly involved in dangerous road stunts after videos of the incidents went viral on social media.
Taking cognisance of the videos, the traffic police registered two separate FIRs in connection with the incidents. The process to suspend the driving licences of the concerned vehicle drivers has also been initiated.
First Case From Kacchi Dargah-Raghopur Road
The first incident was reported under the Bypass Traffic Police Station area.
A video showing a vehicle allegedly performing stunts on the road between Kacchi Dargah and Raghopur Bridge surfaced on social media.
After examining the video, police registered an FIR at the Bypass Traffic Police Station under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Second Case From Patna Marine Drive
The second case relates to Patna Marine Drive, which falls under the Gandhi Maidan Traffic Police Station area.
A video showing alleged road stunts at the location was circulated on social media. Traffic police took cognisance of the footage and registered a case under Section 281 of the BNS at the Gandhi Maidan Traffic Police Station.
Licence Action Initiated
Apart from the FIRs, traffic police has started the process of suspending the driving licences of the vehicle drivers involved in the two cases.
The action follows the police’s focus on preventing dangerous driving and road stunts on major roads in the city.
Police Appeal To Public
Traffic police said action against dangerous driving and road stunts on Patna’s roads and major routes such as Marine Drive would continue.
The police has also appealed to residents to share videos of such incidents with the traffic authorities so that appropriate action can be taken.
