Chhath Festival Enters Second Day with Kharna Puja, Auspicious Alignments Promise Prosperity

Kharna Prasad

Patna: Chhath Puja entered its second day on Wednesday, marked by Kharna Puja. The four-day festival, which began with the traditional Nahai-Khai ritual on Tuesday, saw devotees offering their prayers to the Sun God at the Ganga Ghats, pledging themselves to Mahavrata, or the great vow, following a ceremonial bath.

On the first day, devotees prepared traditional dishes, including Arwa rice, gram dal, pumpkin curry, and gooseberry chutney, which were offered as part of the ritual. After the offerings, they shared prasad with family and friends, continuing the spirit of community and devotion.

This year’s Kharna Puja falls during Moola Nakshatra, a highly auspicious alignment in Vedic astrology, further enhanced by the Sukarma Yoga with Purvashada Nakshatra. The auspicious window for worship spans from 5:29 to 7:48 pm. Performing the ritual during this auspicious alignment is believed to bring happiness, prosperity, and health to the household. The special timing and planetary alignments are said to bless devotees with greater spiritual fruits and blessings.
