Muzaffarpur: Around a dozen children were injured after a portion of the ceiling plaster collapsed at a private coaching centre in a dilapidated community building in Muzaffarpur’s Hathauri area on Thursday morning.
The incident took place at around 8:30 am in Ward 3 of Bhawannipur village under the Sahila Balli panchayat. The children were attending a private coaching class when the plaster suddenly broke away from the ceiling and fell inside the room.
The sudden collapse triggered panic among the students and others present at the site.
Local Residents Rescue Children
After the plaster fell, local residents rushed to the building and helped bring the injured children out of the affected area.
Several children reportedly sustained injuries in the incident. The injured were subsequently sent to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, for treatment.
The condition of the injured children was not immediately available, and further medical assessment is awaited.
Coaching Was Running in Dilapidated Building
According to preliminary information, the community building had reportedly been in a poor and dilapidated condition for some time.
Despite the condition of the building, a private tuition class was being conducted there, with children attending classes regularly.
