IIM Bodh Gaya partners with PCI India to strengthen public health education

Bodh Gaya: The Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PCI India in a bid to enhance the public health domain. The collaboration comes as part of IIM Bodh Gaya’s efforts to boost its recently launched MBA in Hospital & Healthcare Management, a two-year full-time programme introduced in 2023. The programme is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare sector, covering areas such as corporate hospitals, public health, health insurance, pharmaceuticals, digital health, and healthcare consulting.

Professor Vinita Sahay, Director of IIM Bodh Gaya, and Indrajit Chaudhuri, CEO of PCI India, hailed the partnership as both strategic and forward-thinking, emphasizing the MoU’s potential to advance academic excellence while creating significant social impact. Prof. Swapnarag Swain, Chairperson of the MBA in Hospital & Healthcare Management at IIM Bodh Gaya, echoed these sentiments, describing the collaboration as a “win-win” for students, who will gain valuable exposure to public health challenges and develop solutions for real-world implementation.

As part of the agreement, students enrolled in the MBA-HHM programme will participate in a two-week community immersion project designed to provide them with hands-on experience in public health. Additionally, subject matter experts from PCI India will contribute to the curriculum, delivering lectures on key healthcare topics, while PCI India will offer internship opportunities to students. A distinctive feature of the MBA-HHM programme is its four-month summer internship, which sets it apart from other MBA courses.

In addition to these educational initiatives, IIM Bodh Gaya and PCI India will collaborate on joint research projects and host events such as round-table discussions, seminars, and workshops to encourage knowledge-sharing, innovation, and debate on pressing healthcare management issues.

The partnership reflects IIM Bodh Gaya’s commitment to making a meaningful impact in the healthcare sector, with the institute positioning itself as a centre of excellence in healthcare management education and research.
