Patna: Former Bihar health minister Tej Pratap Yadav has spoken about the breakdown of his marriage, alleging that tensions developed within three months of his arranged marriage. He claimed that domestic disagreements became so frequent that he sometimes avoided returning home and stayed at friends’ houses or elsewhere.
In his account, Tej Pratap said the problems continued while he was serving as Bihar’s health minister. He also described an incident in which he allegedly saw his wife exchanging affectionate messages with a man he identified as her former boyfriend.
Tej Pratap’s Claims About Messages
Tej Pratap alleged that one evening, after returning from the Legislative Assembly, he entered his bedroom and saw his wife chatting with another man. He claimed that the messages included heart emojis and affectionate exchanges.
According to his account, he was able to read the conversation from a distance. He said the incident affected him deeply and added to the difficulties in their relationship.
These allegations reflect Tej Pratap’s account of the dispute. The claims about the messages have not been independently established in the information provided.
Disagreements Over Household Routine
Tej Pratap also alleged that tensions at home affected his parents, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. He claimed that his wife’s behaviour, including shouting during disagreements, caused distress within the family.
He further said that his daily prayers, which he usually performed between 6am and 7am, became a point of disagreement. According to him, his wife would sometimes stay up partying until 4am or 5am, while he alleged that she restricted his movements outside the house.
Video Recordings Submitted As Evidence
Tej Pratap said he secretly recorded videos during arguments and disputes between the couple. He claimed that the recordings were later used as evidence in court in connection with the marital dispute.
He also argued that men are often held responsible when marriages break down, adding that responsibility for a troubled relationship cannot always be attributed to one partner.
The circumstances surrounding the recordings and their treatment in court would need to be assessed against court records and other independently verifiable information. The allegations outlined above should not be treated as judicial findings.
