19th Convocation of Bihar Forest Officers Held at Gujarat Forest Rangers College, Rajpipla

Rajpipla: The 19th Convocation of Forest Field Officers from Bihar took place at the Gujarat Forest Rangers College, Rajpipla, District Narmada, with 43 officers completing their training successfully. The event was graced by distinguished guests, including UD Singh, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Gujarat), AK Dwivedi, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Training, Bihar), Surendra Singh, Chief Conservator of Forests (Human Resource Development), and Sunil Kumar Barwal, Principal of Gujarat Forest Rangers College.

The Gujarat Forest Rangers College, established in 1979 and recognised under the Directorate of Forest Education, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, offers training in line with the curriculum prescribed by the Directorate of Forest Education (DFE), Dehradun. This year, 42 officers from Bihar and 1 from Gujarat successfully completed the training, which covered 19 subjects related to forest management and environmental conservation.

The 18-month rigorous program included both theoretical and practical lessons in areas such as forest management, nursery practices, plantation, ecological census techniques, and physical training. Trainees also engaged in field exercises at sanctuaries and national parks across India. The training curriculum also included courses in remote sensing, photography, motor mechanics, weapon training, and physical fitness activities like PT, yoga, and swimming.

During the convocation, seven trainees received honours degrees, 36 were awarded pass degrees, and five earned medal certificates. Ragini Singh received 1 gold and 2 silver medals, Aman Kumar was awarded 1 silver medal, and Khushboo also earned a silver medal for their exceptional performance.
