Patna: Bihar is stepping up efforts to attract industrial investment and generate employment, with the state receiving 1,091 investment proposals worth Rs 1,21,863 crore since 2025, according to Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh.
The proposed investments are expected to create more than 68,807 employment opportunities. The state government is focusing on providing land, infrastructure and investor-friendly policies to encourage businesses to establish and expand their operations in Bihar.
14,600 Acres of Industrial Land Planned Across Bihar
The government is working to make more than 14,600 acres of additional land available for industrial development. Land acquisition is underway at 28 locations across 25 districts to establish new industrial areas.
The initiative is intended to expand the state’s industrial infrastructure and provide space for new manufacturing units and other businesses.
Meanwhile, the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) has allotted 727 acres of land to 521 industrial units since the 2025-26 financial year began.
These units are expected to bring in investments worth Rs 18,380 crore and generate 49,167 employment opportunities.
Gaya to Get 1,670-Acre Integrated Manufacturing City
One of the major projects in the state’s industrial development plans is the proposed Bihar Integrated Manufacturing City at Dobhi in Gaya district.
The project is planned across 1,670 acres and is expected to create a dedicated industrial hub for manufacturing activities.
According to Industries Minister Shreyasi Singh, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary will launch the project’s web portal. Further details on implementation and investment opportunities were not included in the information available.
Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in Focus
The state government is also emphasising sectors such as semiconductor manufacturing and electronics, as part of its broader strategy to diversify Bihar’s industrial base.
The availability of industrial land, infrastructure development and policies aimed at attracting investors are expected to play an important role in bringing new businesses to the state.
Employment Generation Remains a Key Objective
The investment proposals and industrial land-allocation figures indicate the scale of Bihar’s current efforts to expand its industrial sector. However, the projected employment figures represent expected opportunities, and the actual number of jobs created will depend on how projects are implemented and become operational.
With new industrial areas planned across 25 districts and the proposed manufacturing city in Gaya, the government aims to strengthen Bihar’s position as an investment destination and expand employment opportunities for the state’s workforce.
