Bihar Board Declares STET 2024 Results, Over 70% Pass Rate Recorded

Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) announced the results of the Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2024 on Monday. According to Anand Kishore, Chairman of the Examination Committee, 70.25% of candidates who appeared for the exam have passed. Out of the 4,23,822 candidates who sat for Paper One and Two across 45 subjects, 2,97,747 successfully cleared the test.

The results are available on the official BSEB website, secondary.biharboardonline.com. Candidates can access their scores by entering their application ID as the user ID and their date of birth as the password.

Exam Breakdown and Performance

The STET 2024 exams were conducted online via Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. Paper One was held from 18 to 29 May, covering 16 subjects, while Paper Two took place between 11 and 20 June for 29 subjects.

In Paper One, 2,63,911 candidates appeared, with 1,94,697 passing, resulting in a pass rate of 73.77%. Paper Two saw 1,59,911 candidates sit for the exam, of whom 1,03,050 passed, yielding a pass rate of 64.44%.

The Chairman confirmed that passing certificates would be issued to all successful candidates. The exams featured multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark, with no negative marking for incorrect answers. A total of 150 questions were asked, amounting to 150 marks.

Recruitment and Future Plans

Anand Kishore noted that the ongoing recruitment process for teachers across Bihar would determine the next steps for sanctioned teaching posts. Once the current recruitment cycle is completed and sanctioned posts are assessed by the education department, a decision will be made regarding the scheduling of future STET examinations.

Meanwhile, the results for the third phase of teacher recruitment examinations are being processed by the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC).
