Bihar Teachers Can Apply for Transfers Online from 1-15 December

Patna: The Bihar Education Department has announced that teachers seeking transfers can submit their applications online from December 1 to December 15. This fresh application process comes under a new provision, with all previous applications canceled. Over 1.2 lakh teachers who had earlier applied will need to reapply.

The department’s directive, issued by Director of Primary Education Pankaj Kumar, mentions that the government has received numerous requests from teachers facing specific issues and wanting transfers. Teachers can now apply through the e-Shiksha Kosh portal within the stipulated period. The government will evaluate their requests for transfer or posting based on the new policy.

In addition to the transfer process, the government has also reverted schools to their old timings. Starting December 1, schools will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., ensuring a uniform schedule across the state.

This announcement comes a day after Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recognised 1,14,000 contractual teachers as state employees during a program in Patna. However, he emphasised that contractual teachers would continue working at their current postings, with no new postings being granted at this time.
