Patna: The results of by-elections for all four assembly seats in Bihar have been declared, with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) securing victories across the board. In Imamganj, Deepa Manjhi, daughter-in-law of Jitan Ram Manjhi, defeated RJD’s Roshan Manjhi by a margin of 5,945 votes. In Tarari, Vishal Prashant, son of Bahubali Sunil Pandey, emerged victorious, securing 78,755 votes and defeating the CPI (ML) candidate by over 10,000 votes.

Manorama Devi of the Janata Dal (United) claimed a decisive win in Belagnj, defeating RJD’s Vishwanath Singh by a margin of 21,391 votes. Meanwhile, the closest contest was seen in Ramgarh, where BJP’s Ashok Kumar Singh edged out BSP’s Satish Singh Yadav by just 1,362 votes. Despite a strong showing initially, Yadav fell short, leaving RJD’s Ajit Singh in third position.

Prashant Kishore’s Jansuraj Party made its electoral debut but struggled to make a significant impact. The party ranked third in Tarari, Belagnj, and Imamganj and fourth in Ramgarh. Across all four seats, Jansuraj failed to pose a substantial challenge to the major players.

Voter turnout in the November 13 by-elections stood at 52.83% across the four constituencies. Individual turnout figures were 50.10% in Tarari, 56.21% in Belagnj, 51.01% in Imamganj, and 54.02% in Ramgarh. A total of 38 candidates contested these four seats, marking a significant moment for Bihar’s political landscape.
