Bihar Defeats Nagaland by 9 Wickets in Women’s Under-15 One Day Trophy

Patna: Bihar secured a commanding 9-wicket victory over Nagaland in the Women’s Under-15 One Day Trophy, thanks to impressive bowling and strong batting performances by captain Pratibha Sahni and vice captain Akshara Gupta. The match was held at the JNN College of Engineering Ground in Shimoga, Karnataka. Bihar’s next match is scheduled against Kerala on November 25.
Nagaland, opting to bat first after winning the toss, managed 73 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 35 overs. Their batting lineup struggled against Bihar’s disciplined bowling, with only Neetu Chhetri (30 runs off 42 balls) and Sasirenla Jamir (10 runs) reaching double digits. Extras contributed 25 runs to Nagaland’s total.
Bihar’s bowlers dominated the game, with Akshara Gupta taking 2 wickets for 13 runs, Chetali Sanjit 2 for 10, Anushka Singh 2 for 12, Vaishnavi Singh 1 for 7, and Priya Raj 1 for 7. One batter was run out, leaving Nagaland unable to set a challenging target.
Chasing 74 runs, Bihar cruised to victory in just 7 overs, losing only one wicket. Captain Pratibha Sahni remained unbeaten with 29 runs off 19 balls, hitting 4 fours. Vice captain Akshara Gupta scored 27 runs off 18 balls, also hitting 4 fours, while Priya Raj contributed 11 not outs. Nagaland’s Chele K took the sole wicket, conceding 8 runs.
