Patna: Actor and filmmaker Neetu Chandra has invested in Agrifeeder Agricultural Services Private Limited, a startup based in Pirpainti, Bhagalpur, aimed at supporting small and marginal farmers in Bihar. Chandra, who has worked in both Bollywood and Hollywood, has joined the company as a co-founder to help boost rural employment and improve market access for farmers.

Founded by Raman Kumar, Raunak Kumar, and Priya Pandey, Agrifeeder currently works with over 5,000 farmers, including more than 1,000 women. The startup focuses on making farmers self-reliant by strengthening the supply chain for indigenous food products, improving packaging, and expanding market access.

Chandra, who hails from Patna, said she was deeply moved by the struggles of Bihar’s rural communities and wanted to contribute to agricultural development. “I am committed to helping farmers, especially women, gain access to markets and receive fair prices for their hard work. By eliminating middlemen, Agrifeeder ensures that farmers get the true value of their produce,” she said.

The initiative aims to promote Bihar’s traditional agricultural products, such as sattu, katarni rice, and jardalu mango, across India. The startup plans to train farmers in advanced techniques, provide better-quality seeds and organic fertilizers, and assist with pre- and post-harvest management. It has set a target of reaching one million customers globally within the next three years.

Raman Kumar, one of Agrifeeder’s founders, welcomed Chandra’s involvement, saying, “Her participation will increase the brand’s national and international recognition, which will directly benefit farmers in Bihar.”

Established in 2017, Agrifeeder has been working to introduce new agricultural techniques to over 50,000 farmers in Bihar. Its key products include lemongrass tea, honey, jaggery, and organic grains. Chandra described the venture as a step towards revolutionising Bihar’s agricultural sector, creating self-employment opportunities, and ensuring that farmers become financially independent.
