Patna: A 30-year-old man was shot and critically injured in Patna on Saturday morning while returning home after dropping his child at school. The victim, identified as Sahil Kumar, was attacked near the Malsalami police station area around 10:30 am.
CCTV footage of the incident shows Kumar, a resident of Marcha in the Bypass police station area, riding his Bullet motorcycle when three men on a bike approached from behind. One of the assailants dismounted, chased Kumar on foot while brandishing a pistol, and fired multiple shots. Kumar collapsed after being hit by two bullets, at which point the attackers fled the scene.
Police arrived shortly after and recovered an empty shell from the site. Malsalami police station in-charge, Rajkumar Singh, said, “We are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby cameras to identify the suspects. The victim’s family is not in a condition to provide details at the moment.”
Preliminary investigations suggest that three unidentified attackers were involved. “He was shot from behind while returning home. The injured man has been admitted to the hospital in critical condition,” Singh added.
The police were questioning local residents and scanning surveillance footage as they work to track down the suspects.
