Darbhanga / Patna : Akasa Air marked a significant milestone on Friday as its inaugural flight from New Delhi to Darbhanga was greeted with a ceremonial water salute upon landing at Darbhanga Airport. The launch of this new route is expected to enhance connectivity and boost economic activity in the Mithila region.

The service was officially inaugurated at a ceremony at New Delhi Airport, where Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, alongside JD (U) Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha and Darbhanga MP Gopal Jee Thakur, flagged off the first flight to the north Bihar city. Several senior officials from the Airports Authority of India and Akasa Air were also in attendance.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Jha expressed optimism about the route’s impact. “We are confident that this new flight will make air travel easier for the people of Mithila and Bihar, while also contributing to tourism and economic development in the state,” he said.
