
Patna: Talented athletes across Bihar will soon have a fresh opportunity for recognition, with the state gearing up for its annual sports awards ceremony. Organised by the state’s sports department in collaboration with the Bihar State Sports Authority (BSSA), the ceremony will take place on August 29, 2025, to mark National Sports Day.
The event will honour athletes with cash prizes and citations for outstanding performances at national and international levels.
Ravindra Shankar, Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the BSSA, announced that the online application process will open at noon on June 11. Eligible athletes will need to register through the authority’s official website, with applications closing at midnight on July 10.
Shankar emphasised that no late submissions will be entertained, urging applicants to adhere strictly to the deadline.
The awards are open exclusively to athletes who have secured gold, silver, or bronze medals while representing Bihar or India in national or international competitions between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025. Applications on any other basis will not be considered.
