Muzaffarpur: Three armed assailants looted Rs 85,000 from a grocery shop in Muzaffarpur’s Turki police station area late Tuesday night, holding the shopkeeper hostage at gunpoint in a brazen crime caught on CCTV.

According to the shopkeeper, Angad Sah, the attackers entered the store after dark, abused him, and demanded cash at gunpoint. Fearing for his life, Sah disclosed the location of the cash box. The robbers made off with the money after briefly assaulting a staff member during a scuffle.

In a calculated attempt to evade identification, one of the criminals wore a helmet, another covered his face with a mask, and the third used a yellow towel. After the heist, they fled southwards from the scene.

Turki SHO Rahul Ranjan confirmed that police are analysing CCTV footage and have launched raids in search of the suspects. “We are working swiftly and expect to make arrests soon,” he said.
