The Himgiri Express departed from Patna on Wednesday, carrying passengers en route to Pathankot for a wedding. Upon reaching Ara railway station, additional individuals boarded the train and reportedly conducted the looting and assault. Passengers claimed that some other travelers from Patna were supporting the perpetrators, contributing to the theft of mobile phones and jewelry. After the incident, the perpetrators easily alighted at Ara railway station and walked away.
In response to the incident, Inspector Deepak Kumar stated that he met with the passengers upon receiving information, but they did not file a formal complaint. Medical assistance was provided at Buxar railway station. However, he asserted that the matter was a dispute between two groups of passengers, primarily centered around seating, and no evidence of a robbery has surfaced.
