Badminton Competition Organized at Central University of South Bihar during Fit India Week
GAYA – As part of Fit India Week, a badminton competition took place at Gargi Sadan Girls Hostel in the Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Gaya.
Mohd. Mudassir Alam, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), informed that, in accordance with the guidelines from the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Government of India, Fit India Week has been ongoing since December 6, 2023, under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Professor Kameshwar Nath Singh.
During this event, female students exhibited great enthusiasm, participating in the badminton tournament organized with the assistance of Chief Warden Renu (Coordinator) and Co-Coordinator Dr. Neha Shukla. Chief Warden Renu warmly welcomed the guests by presenting them with traditional body cloths. Professor Kaushal Kishore Sharma, Dean of Social Science at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, graced the women’s badminton competition as the chief guest. He emphasized the significance of sports in both public and personal life, shedding light on the importance of Fit India Week.
During the event, Dr. Jitendra Pratap Singh, Assistant Director of CUSB and Nodal Officer of Fit India, provided insights into the facts and objectives related to Fit India Week for the guests and students.
Deepanjali Basumaitry from the Biotechnology Department secured the first prize, Fahmi Ansari from the Mathematics Department secured the second prize, and Aarti Mohan M.V. from the Psychology Department secured the third prize in the competition.
The sports activities were efficiently conducted by Chandan Kumar, Mohit Bharanagar, Trilokinath Tiwari, and Vivek Kumar from the Physical Education Department. Vedika managed the program, and all members of the hostel sports committee, including Sana, Veenita, and Deepali, actively participated.
